OPENING OF THE EU*CONNECT PROGRAM – A DIGITAL LEARNING PLATFORM FOR STUDENTS AND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS FROM UKRAINE, FRANCE AND GERMANY

On October 20, 2022, the official online opening of the EU*Connect Program – a digital educational platform for students and young professionals from Ukraine, France, and Germany – took place at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service.

The President of the International Center for European Training (CIFE) and Honorary President of the European Council Herman VAN ROMPUY, Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Volodymyr BUGROV, General Director of CIFE Matthias WAECHTER, as well as general secretaries of the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO) Anne TALLINEAU and Tobias BUTOW addressed the participants of the Program with welcoming speeches.

In his speech, Volodymyr BUGROV thanked the International Center for European Training for the opportunity to participate in the implementation of the EU Connect educational platform. He also noted that the course towards European integration is a conscious choice of Ukraine, its citizens and public authorities. Today, there is a great need for expert knowledge about the EU, its values, functioning and mechanisms of the accession process. After all, European integration is the rapprochement of Ukraine with the European Union both at the level of laws and at the level of rules and customs existing in society. That is why Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is an active participant in the implementation of the EU Connect Educational Platform, which includes participants from Ukraine, France and Germany.

Within the framework of the EU Connect Educational Platform, the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service has developed and will present to the participants of the program the educational unit "Ukrainian challenges in the context of war and integration into the EU environment".

The training will last from the end of October 2022 to February 2023 inclusive.

During the EU Connect interactive digital campus, participants will take part in lectures, seminars, trainings and discussions. The key topics are the foundations of the European Union (institutions, decision-making, law), the role of the EU in current conflicts, the process of joining the EU, as well as the specific challenges of Ukraine in the context of war and reconstruction.

We wish the participants of the EU Connect Program a fruitful study and acquisition of new knowledge!
