INTERNATIONAL ROUND TABLE DEDICATED TO THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CREATION OF NATO "THE ROLE OF NATO IN THE EVOLUTION OF THE EUROPEAN SECURITY SYSTEM"
On April 4, 2024, an international round table dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of NATO was held at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service together with the Educational and Scientific Center "Institute of Biology and Medicine" of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv on the topic: "THE ROLE OF NATO IN THE EVOLUTION OF THE EUROPEAN SECURITY SYSTEM".
The event was opened by Larysa KOMAKHA, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service, who emphasized the importance of this event, which gathers leading specialists in this field both from Ukraine and abroad and involves student youth in discussing these issues.
The participants of the event were greeted by the Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Prof. Volodymyr BUGROV, who emphasized the importance of holding these events, as this format of meetings allows to discuss the role of NATO in the evolution of the European security system in the conditions of modern challenges and threats and about the common path of Ukraine and NATO, which forms the European security space.
Guests addressed the participants of the event with welcoming words: Serhii MUL, Deputy Director of the Department of Work Organization, Planning and Control of the Administration of the State Border Service of Ukraine, major general, doctor of psychological sciences, professor; Yurii KISIEL, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Transport and Infrastructure; Valentyn PETROV, Head of the military security department of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, doctor of political sciences, associate professor; Rimantas JARMALAVICIUS, Commander of the General Adolfas Ramanauskas Combat Training Centre (Lithuania).
Moderator of the event, Nataliia KLYMENKO, professor of the Department of Global and National Security of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, noted the urgency of the issue of Ukraine's integration into NATO in order to ensure European security in the face of modern challenges and threats.
